Here are the top moments!

Byron is victorious!

The most consistent driver all season etched his name into the win column yet again, earning another celebratory donut with his fifth win of the season. The win also marked five straight for Hendrick Motorsports.

Forced off

McDowell’s start was strong. His finish, though, was less than. The No. 34 had to pit after motor issues took him off the track.

Out of gas!

Chase Elliott ran into major trouble as the race wound down, dropping out of contention after his car ran out of gas. The stall brought out the caution flags, while his exit makes next week’s race at Daytona a must-win for him to qualify for the playoffs.

Maneuvering inside

Kyle Larson was able to slide past his competitor on this turn in Stage 3, swiftly breezing by to overtake him.

Day of firsts

Although he’d never led a lap at Watkins Glen before today, William Byron took things over in Stage 2, finishing as its victor heading into the third.

Penalty!

McDowell received a penalty just moments later after driving through too many pit boxes.

Number one after one

After claiming his first win of the season last week, Michael McDowell continued his hot stretch with a Stage 1 victory.

Spin out!

Daniel Suárez lost control of his No. 99 car early on, but was lucky to sustain minimal damage in the scrum.

Legends abound

Several huge names showed face at Watkins Glen, including the one and only Dale Earnhardt Jr.
